Doko is derived from the Japanese word, 'Doko demo' (どこでも) which translates to 'anywhere'. The Doko chair is simplistic in nature and refined to an absolute minimum so that only the essential elements remain without sacrificing comfort.

Referencing the values of honest craftsmanship and Japanese materiality, the Doko Chair is a simplistic perspective of the archetypical dining chair. The curved solid wooden backrest integrates seamlessly with the steel frame while the seat is firmly mounted to the frame.

Cleaning instructions

Wood
Use a damp clean cloth to dust regularly. Do not use abrasive, silicon or oil-based cleaners. Blot spills immediately to avoid moisture, penetrating the wood.

Steel
Dust regularly and wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Dry off immediately to avoid marks. Do not use any harsh chemicals, abrasive powders, metallic scourers, silver or brass cleaners. If residue starts to leave marks apply wax polish regularly to shine. Frame is not rust proof. Clean more regularly at the coast, as sea salts build up and could cause corrosion.

Leather
Occasionally wipe with a soft, damp cloth to avoid accumulation of dust which can act as a corrosive and damage the leather. Do not expose to direct sunlight or consistent UV light as discolouration and fading will result. Blot spills immediately with an absorbent cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and detergents. Do not use artificial heat or harsh sunlight to dry leather furniture, as this will cause the leather to become dry and crack. Professional cleaning is recommended.

DELIVERIES:

Orders have a variable lead-time depending on which products have been bought.  Each vendor has their own lead-time so please make sure you know what they are for each brand, especially if you've bought from multiple vendors.

Shipping is charged as a flat rate of R99 anywhere in South Africa (up to 2kg) and we try to deliver on an overnight basis where we can.   Generally, parcels will take 1-3 days to be delivered, after the manufacturing lead-time, but if you live in a rural or outlying area then delivery will likely take a bit longer and can be anything up to 14 days once the parcel has been collected. 

Please get in touch with us if you aren't sure how long delivery will take.

You will receive email updates as items become available for shipping and you will also receive multiple tracking emails as your parcel(s) travel to you.

BULKY/HEAVY ITEMS:

Items more than 2kgs are considered heavy or bulky and will need a custom quotation to be created.  Please

get in touch and let us know what you're looking to buy so we can send an accurate quote to you.  If you choose to check out, you will see a 'free' shipping rate to choose, however a custom shipping rate will be sent to you separately.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

We ship to certain countries, please get in touch if your country doesn't appear in checkout.  For international shipping we use EMS which is a trackable service via the postal services around the world.  The international shipping fee for parcels up to 2kg is ZAR1000.  If your order is over 2kgs we will send a separate shipping fee to you.

RETURNS:

If an item needs to be exchanged for a different size please get in touch with us within 7 days of your parcel being delivered and we will arrange a replacement with the vendor.

The shipping fees for returning the unwanted item as well as sending the new item will be for your own account.

If the item and has been damaged in transit, please get in touch with us within 5 days of your parcel arriving and we will arrange for the item to be returned to the vendor.

Please note, lingerie bottoms, swimwear bikini bottoms and one-piece costumes are not exchangeable or returnable due to hygiene reasons, so please ensure you purchase the correct size.  If you are not sure what size to get, please get in touch, we're happy to assist.

CUSTOM DESIGNS:

Custom made products are manufactured according to your order, PLATFORM23 cannot accept any returns or exchanges. Only defective products may be exchanged.

DAMAGE CAUSED AS A RESULT OF:

- Faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
- Negligence, abuse or incorrect use of the product;
- Electrical surges;
- Weather conditions, such as sea air corrosion;
- Failing to care for the product adequately; 
- And alterations to the product shall not be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to repair / exchange of the product.

A product will also not be considered to be defective where the product has been accurately described on the website and is generally fit for purpose, but does not suit you.

In order to return a defective product, please email us images and information about the relevant product. We shall then assess the product and should we determine the product to be defective, we will arrange for the defective product to be collected from you and we will repair or replace the product. 

If repair or exchange of the defective product is not possible, Platform23 will credit your account, or refund you (at your option) for the purchase price of the defective product. Credits and refunds are generally processed within 8 (eight) days of logging the return. Repairs and replacements may take longer, depending on the availability of parts and/or replacements.

Should you wish to return a defective product, please ensure that the defective product is re-packaged in suitable packaging to prevent damage to the product in transit. Our courier reserves the right to refuse to collect a defective product if that product is not properly packaged for transit. Courier costs will be for your account.

The customer or the person taking delivery on behalf of the customer will be required to sign a proof of delivery (POD). Unless indicated to the contrary on the POD, it is deemed that the product has been delivered and received in good condition and, where appropriate, in accordance with the customer’s specifications.

ALL OTHER PRODUCTS:

Refunds on all other products will only be made if an item is faulty or does not match the website description.  We will gladly offer a credit note if you would like to return an item that is not faulty.  You will be held responsible for paying your shipping cost when returning an item. Once the goods have been received you will be reimbursed.
